1752 Luke 1:3   It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

1754 Luke 1:5   There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

1755 Luke 1:6   And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

1756 Luke 1:7   And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

1757 Luke 1:8   And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,

1758 Luke 1:9   According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

1759 Luke 1:10  And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

1760 Luke 1:11  And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

1761 Luke 1:12  And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.

1762 Luke 1:13  But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

1763 Luke 1:14  And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

1764 Luke 1:15  For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

1765 Luke 1:16  And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

1766 Luke 1:17  And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

1767 Luke 1:18  And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

1768 Luke 1:19  And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

1769 Luke 1:20  And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

1770 Luke 1:21  And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.

1771 Luke 1:22  And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.

1772 Luke 1:23  And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.

1773 Luke 1:24  And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,

1774 Luke 1:25  Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

1775 Luke 1:26  And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

1776 Luke 1:27  To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

1777 Luke 1:28  And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

1778 Luke 1:29  And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

1779 Luke 1:30  And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

1780 Luke 1:31  And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

1781 Luke 1:32  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

1785 Luke 1:36  And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

1786 Luke 1:37  For with God nothing shall be impossible.

1787 Luke 1:38  And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

1866 Luke 2:37  And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

1867 Luke 2:38  And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

1868 Luke 2:39  And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

1869 Luke 2:40  And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

1870 Luke 2:41  Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

1871 Luke 2:42  And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

1872 Luke 2:43  And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

1873 Luke 2:44  But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

1874 Luke 2:45  And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

1875 Luke 2:46  And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

1876 Luke 2:47  And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

1877 Luke 2:48  And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

1879 Luke 2:50  And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

1880 Luke 2:51  And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

0595 Matt 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

0596 Matt 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
